ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹਾਕੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਖੇਡਾਂ ‘ਚ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਸੋਨ ਤਮਗਾ। ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਪਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਪੈਰਿਸ ਓਲੰਪਿਕ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਕੁਆਲੀਫਾਈ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਚੀਨ ‘ਚ ਹੋਈਆਂ 19ਵੀਆਂ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਖੇਡਾਂ ‘ਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮੈਚ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਏਸ਼ਿਆਈ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮੈਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਜ਼ਬੇਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ 16-0 ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਫਰਕ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਿੰਗਾਪੁਰ ਨੂੰ 16-1 ਅਤੇ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ 12-0 ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਰਾਊਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਜਾਪਾਨ ਨੂੰ 4-2 ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ 10-10-2 ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਫਿਰ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਪਾਨ ਨੂੰ 5-1 ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਇਆ।
