- Bathing in Yamuna river has special significance on the day of Bhai Dooj. If this is not possible, then bathe before sunrise and offer Arghya to the Sun God.
- On this day, sisters prepare different types of dishes to welcome their brothers. Prepare the plate of worship.
- Worship Bhai Dooj only in auspicious time. First of all, make the brother sit on a post and then apply akshat by tilak with kumkum. While commenting , say this mantra – ‘Ganga worship Yamuna, Yami worship Yamraj, Subhadra worship Krishna, Ganga-Yamuna neer flow, my brother’s life increases.
- After doing tilak, feed sweets to the brother and pray to Lord Yama for his brother’s long life.
