ਨੀਰਜ਼ ਚੋਪੜਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਐਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਵਿੱਚ 88.17 ਮੀਟਰ ਥਰੋਅ ਸੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਲਈ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ। 25 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਨੀਰਜ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਡਾਇਮੰਡ ਲੀਗ ਖਿਤਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ 2021 ਵਿੱਚ ਓਲੰਪਿਕ ਟੋਕੀਓ, ਏਸ਼ਿਆਈ ਖੇਡਾਂ 2018 ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਮੰਡਲ ਖੇਡਾਂ 2018, ਅੰਡਰ-20 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ 2016 ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨ ਤਗਮੇ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
Neerz Chopra won the gold medal for India by throwing 88.17 meters in the World Athletics Championships. 25-year-old Neeraj has now won gold medals at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, 2018 Asian Games and 2018 Commonwealth Games, U-20 World Championship 2016, besides the Diamond League title last year.

Two other Indians, Kishore Jena and DP Manu, also impressed on the big stage. Jena finished fifth with a throw of 84.77m, while Wiley Manu finished sixth with his best throw of 84.14m.
